We are getting ready for fall in the Huber household and part of that is reminding everyone about RSV. Even though the boys are robust and healthy, they are still preemies and therefore still at risk for RSV this winter. The best way to stop the transmission of RSV is good hand-washing, so if you are coming to visit, please remember to wash your hands for atleast 30 seconds when you get to our house and again before handling the boys. Also, if you have been sick or if you have been around anyone who is sick in the past few days then please, please wait atleast 5 days before coming to visit the boys. Our pediatrician has strongly advised "preemie lock down" for the fall and winter and this usually means no leaving the house except for appointments, but we do not want to be sequestered in our home all winter and we definitely want to see everyone for the holidays. Hopefully we can get in some visits to friends and family this fall while keeping the boys safe at the same time, but it will definitely help if our friends and family are aware of their own health and vigilant about hand-washing.
